Hi there! Anybody can give me suggesstion for what is the next step for rescheduling for an interview... The embassy scheduled my husband for an interview last SEPT. 8, 2006, unfortunately he did appear because i gave birth SEPT 7, 2006 a day before his interview... He fax a letter for a resched interview dated february 2007, but the embassy has no reply... He also called the hotline of the embassy, they just said that will just wait for the retrogression lifted... Many of my friends told me that his case was CLOSE CASE it means that anytime the embassy will sched us for an interview.... I hope that anybody can give me an idea for this situation... thanks and more power

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I do not mean to discourage you, but it would have been better if he had attended his scheduled interview schedule. Since there is retrogression right now, even if they interview you, you will still not get a visa as there is no available visa for nurses right now. You would have to wait until a visa becomes available for you before they will call you for another interview appointment.
Good luck!

thanks for the information... Is it better if we will often follow up our application by calling thier hotline or email them? Is there a big chances that this 2008 the retrogression will be open again? Thanks and more power....

You are welcome. You can't do anything right now even if you bother them on the phone. As soon as the retrogression is lifted, they will start scheduling appointments and they do it according to their queue. No one can tell when would the retrogression be lifted, so it is better to always stay informed.
An alternative would be for your employer to petition you under H1-B. Application for this type of visa will open in April and it is a first come first served basis as it has a quota. You may need to wait for a few months, but it seems that this would be a faster way to get to the US. You can always adjust to immigrant status later.
I hope this helps.

I do not see why you can not apply for H1-B for as long as you have an employer who is willing to sponsor/petition you. Just take whichever comes first. Good luck again!
